Judging by the number of visitors, it is a very welcome addition to the local area’s sports facilities. In fact, the community has been asking for a boxing club since there is no other boxing club or academy in Javea.

But what really sets this establishment apart is the incredibly friendly welcome Paddy provides to each person who walks through the door. His passion for sport is truly contagious and his belief in how sport can support a positive mental outlook is inspiring.
As he explained at the boxing academy’s opening ceremony, the goal is for “everyone of every age and social level to leave the academy feeling exhausted but also empowered.”
Two special guests cut the ribbon. Ursula Longmore, wife of Paddy’s late mentor Bill Longmore, and Barry Sheldon, who worked with Bill in the police force. Prior to the ribbon cutting, the pair spoke at a press conference explaining Bill’s background and how he supported Paddy’s rehabilitation boxing program in the UK as part of the Police and Crime Plan when he was Commissioner of Police and Crime. said the words.
After the ribbon cutting, guests stayed and looked around, some eagerly accepting invitations to participate in a few sparring sessions.
